A pastor in Iran has been the target of religious discrimination and is currently detained in Evin prison, a prison known for its harsh treatment of prisoners, poor living conditions, and the use of torture on inmates. The United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention released an opinion stating that Pastor Nadarkhani's imprisonment is arbitrary and calls upon Iran to remedy the situation without delay. Please join us in prayer for 317 schoolgirls who were recently kidnapped by gunmen in northwest Nigeria. We pray that they would all be released without harm.

The gunmen stormed the school in the middle of the night dressed as security guards. It became apparent that they were abducting them once the girls were forced onto trucks and the gunmen sporadically opened fire.

"When they came into the school, we thought they were security personnel, but to our utmost fear and dismay, they started putting the girls into Hilux vehicles and motorcycles then drove out of the school," the staff member said.

"This is a gross violation of children's rights and a horrific experience for children to go through — one which could have long-lasting effects on their mental health and well-being," he said.

Although a group has not claimed responsibility, the mass kidnapping is eerily similar to one perpetrated by Boko Haram in 2014 where 270 Christian schoolgirls were kidnapped, 100 of whom are still missing.
